There is nothing better on a cold winter night than hot, spicy mulled wine! Even its scent is wonderful! There exist many variations of mulled wine - unfortunately the majority of the beverages that were placed in front of me were far from being as good as they could have been. This recipe here is really delicious, don’t miss it!

Preparation time: 15 minutes

For how many servings?:

Ingredients (4 servings per recipe. 1 serving = for 1 person.)

750 ml / 1.32 pint dry, not too acidic red wine
70 g / 2.47 oz sugar
2 cinnamon pods
8 whole cloves
3 whole allspices
2 grains of green cardamom
4 slices of lemon

Preparation

1. In a pot heat the wine and the spices on a medium fire, constantly stirring. Do not boil the wine because that ruins its flavour.

2. When the wine is hot enough put the lemon slices in, and if necessary add some castor sugar to taste. Pour into cups and serve it hot!
